A versatile session drummer since 1999 at the age of 10. His main genre focus is in Afro Jazz, Funk, hip-hop, soul and gospel. He was born and bred in Zimbabwe, in a Christian family of four and him being the second born. He is currently based in South Africa.
Josiah’s personal taste is incredibly diverse with strong influences coming from Afro Jazz, Funk, hip-hop, soul and gospel. Together, these are the foundations of the musician he is today.
Joedruma has a distinctive form in beat making and music production. He has mastered his unique style in drum ‘groove’ play in both Studio and live playing. He has performed at quite a number of festivals and Award ceremonies such as the Annual Moshito festival (SA); Annual Africa Unite concerts (SA) hosted by the national Arts and Culture of South Africa; MTN valentines concert; South African Literary Awards (SALA); 2016 Venda District Mayoral Inaugurations, to mention a few.
Joedruma has worked with a couple of artists such as Siphokazi (Sama Award winner), Mkhululi Bhebhe (Joyous Celebration), Lilitha (S.A), Tebogo Patience Sumedi (S.A), James Okon (Nigeria), Loyiso Bala (S.A), Mabongi (S.A),Lilly Million(S.A), Rhonewa Newie (S.A) to mention a few.
Apart from Music and playing drums as his main instrument, Joedruma also plays keyboards, and Bass guitar at standard level. He holds a Bcom Degree qualification in Tourism and Management.
Joedruma has a massive passion, always on the drive for Excellency in music and yet eager to learn more.
